Meet the Artist

 

Just Captured Studios (JCS) is owned and operated by Julia Clare Shove. Originally founded in 2013 under the name of J.S. Images Photography, Julia concentrates her work in portraiture and dance photography. Based in Syracuse, NY, JCS serves the greater Central New York area.

A dancer of twenty-two years, Julia is a Lecturer in Dance and Movement Studies at Hamilton College in Clinton, NY and serves as a faculty member and choreographer at numerous CNY private dance schools. Developing from her passion for ballet, Julia's love of photography initially began within her home dance studio.

An alumna of Utica College, Julia holds a Bachelor of Science in psychology. Her artistic work has been entered in a variety of local art shows as well as featured in the Utica Observer-Dispatch. She has had the pleasure of working with a wealth of dancers, most notably while photographing locally for the Mohawk Valley Performing Arts and the Dance With Utica summer festival. ​​
